Becoming a Member


How Do I Become a Member of the SOJ Alumni Association?

All WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism (SOJ) graduates are able to becomes members of the SOJ Alumni Association. Upon graduation, graduates automatically receive free membership for one year. Alumni receive invitations to annual Association events and gatherings.


What Is a Lifetime Member?

Becoming an SOJ Alumni Association Lifetime Member means you have pledged support to the SOJ Alumni Association Endowment. Such support helps the SOJ and its members meet the challenges of the academic environment and reach the milestones expected of a great learning community.

Lifetime Membership requires a one-time $100 pledge. Part of this pledge ($25) goes directly to the Association and helps to cover the cost of annual events and awards. The remaining portion ($75) is submitted to the SOJ Alumni Association Endowment through the West Virginia University Foundation.
